I'm looking for what flowers to cut for today's bouquets and Screamin' Yellow False Indigo (Baptisia) is "screaming" to be included.
I love this bush. In fact, I love it enough that I have three of them. They are hardy to zone 5 (we are a 6 or 7 here) and for those of you who live in Eatonville, they are deer resistant. For bouquets they are nice too because they are bright, fairly early bloomers and long-lived in the vase.
For those of you who like the bright yellow of Scotch Broom, but don't want that invasive plant in your yard, Baptisia is a great choice — not to mention is comes in blue and white.
OK, I'm off to do some cutting.
