People give me their bud vases all the time. I take them willingly. I'm not sure why they are so quick to part with them because they are that one vase you can use all year long.
Why do I love the bud vase? Let me count the ways.
First, the bud vase isn't overpowering. It fits anywhere. On a desk. On a night stand. On the bathroom sick. Heck, I miss my Volkswagen Bug that came with a built-in bud vase. It was the best! In short, I don't know where you couldn't fit a bud vase.
Second, you only need one flower. A bud vase is great when you plucked that one amazing flower out of your yard (or snagged one from your mom's garden) and you want to just showcase it. Bud vases let one one flower take center stage.
Third, you can play with tiny bouquets. Two or three flowers and a couple leafy sidekicks make an entire arrangement.
Fourth, they are easy to give away. When I take big bouquets, they are often top heavy and like to tip over in the car if not extremely secure. A little bud vase often fits nicely in my cup holder.
Fifth, they are for all seasons. Your bud vase doesn't have to hold summer flowers. You can have a little sprig of cedar with some cones. Dried flowers. Feathers. Ferns. You name it!
Sixth, they can be anything. I have created my own bud vases from all kinds of things — old pill bottles, wine testers, and shot glasses. If it can hold a flower and a little water, I can turn it into a bud vase.
I could come up with more, but you get the idea.
Have a reason you love bud vases. Love to hear it. Please share.
